There are many
things that age our faces. There are some things we can't change, but there are
others we can.
Our bodies naturally
age, which is something we can't change. It's very important. Everybody gets
lines on their face over time. As we age, it's normal for our faces to lose
some of their shape. We can tell that our skin is getting smoother and younger.
When these changes happen, they are mostly controlled by our genes. In
medicine, this kind of age is called "intrinsic ageing."
Another kind of age
that happens to our skin can be changed. The things around us and the way we
live can make our skin age faster than it should. In medicine, this kind of age
is called "extrinsic aging." Through some preventative steps, we can
lessen the damage that this kind of ageing does to our faces.
11 ways to stop your skin from changing too quickly
The sun is a big
reason why our skin ages faster than it should. Some other things we do can
also make our skin age faster than it would on its own. Dermatologists give
their patients the following advice to help them keep their skin from getting
old too quickly:.
01: Every day,
keep your face out of the sun. Sun protection is important, whether you're
going to the beach or running chores. Protect your skin from the sun by finding
shade, wearing light, long-sleeved shirts, pants, hats with wide brims, and
shades that block UV rays, and applying broad-spectrum sunscreen that is
waterproof and has an SPF of 30 or higher. SPF should be put on all skin that
isn't hidden by clothes every day. For better defence, look for clothes that
have a sticker that says "UPF" for ultraviolet protection factor.
02: Don't get a
tan; use self-tanner instead. Getting a tan makes your face age faster than
it should. And this is true whether you get your tan in the sun, on a tanning
bed, or some other way inside. All of them give off UV rays that are bad for
you and make your skin age faster.
03: Quit smoking.
When you smoke, your face ages a lot faster. It makes your skin look dull and
sallow and gives you lines.
04: Don't make
the same facial gestures over and over. When you make a face expression,
the muscles below get tight. If you tighten the same muscles over and over for
years, the lines will stay there. Sunglasses can help get rid of lines that
come from staring.
5. Make sure you
eat a healthy, varied diet. A few studies have shown that having a lot of
fresh fruits and veggies may help protect against damage that causes skin to
age faster than it should. A diet high in sugar and other processed starches
may also speed up the ageing process, according to research papers.
06: Don't drink
as much. Rum is rough on the skin. It makes the skin dry and, over time,
hurts the face. Our age can show through this.
07: Work out most
days a week. A few studies have shown that mild exercise can make the
immune system stronger and improve blood flow. Furthermore, this might make the
face look younger.
08: Use mild soap
to clean your face. Scrubbing your face can make it feel rough. Irritating
your face makes it age faster. You can get rid of dirt, makeup, and other
things that are bad for your skin by washing gently.
09: Wash your
face twice a day and after you've sweated a lot. Itchy skin is caused by
sweating, especially when wearing a hat or helmet, so wash your skin as soon as
possible after sweating.
10. Use a lotion
on your face every day. Moisturiser keeps water in our skin, which makes it
look younger.
11. Stop using
skin care items that burn or sting your skin. There is something wrong with
your skin if it burns or stings. Making your face red and itchy can make it
look older.
Note: Some anti-aging products prescribed by a dermatologist may burn or sting. When using a prescription anti-aging product, this can be OK. Just be sure to let your dermatologist know.
Never too late to benefit
Even people who
already have signs of premature skin aging can benefit from making lifestyle
changes. By protecting your skin from the sun, you give it a chance to repair
some of the damage. Smokers who stop often notice that their skin looks
healthier.
If signs of aging
skin bother you, you may want to see a dermatologist. New treatments and
less-invasive procedures for smoothing wrinkles, tightening skin, and improving
one’s complexion are giving many people younger-looking skin.
